Architectural Control Board (ACB) approval is required for
most improvements made to a lot/property if the improvements
affect the external appearance of the property. Refer to
the
Waterwood Policies for Residential Lots document for
additional information, requirements, and process steps.
The WIA staff can assist you with any questions or, if
needed, to arrange an appointment with the ACB (meets
monthly).
Two applications are available to assist you to gain
approval for your project, a Small Improvement Project
Application and a Large Improvement Project Application (a k
a Permit To Build Application).
A Small Improvement Project Application can be used to
request approval for most projects. In many cases, approval
can be received in a short time. For some projects, the
application may require review by the complete ACB.
For large projects, such as the construction of a new house
or a major addition, a Large Improvement Project Application
must be submitted along with all required
documents, payments, and other permits. A Permit To Build
must be issued before any project activity can take place
on a lot. The processing time is usually 3-6 weeks after a
complete application package has been received by the ACB
(and any other requirements are met). You are encouraged to
meet with the ACB and/or the WIA Executive Director to
review your proposed project and to discuss what is required
to receive approval (a Permit To Build).
